Manufacturer: Majorette Casting name (French): Kenworth semi-transport de bestiaux Casting name (English): Kenworth cattle transporter Collector #: 614 Year of Release: 1994
I don't know if it was the same, but I did have a very similar one, though in dark grey and with a Texaco tanker. I don't know if this one does, but mine had an opening hood.
Got to love the wheels on Majorette trucks, by the way.
That was like my favorite toy. It's an old one too. It was released in the mid 80's if I'm not mistaken. There is a new one, but it's not even close as nice as the old one.
They first released the tanker truck in '83, but with Gulf painting. It was released in 1994 in Texaco paint. The catalogs I have state that models are not always printed in every color available, so it might have well been released in both the 80's and again in the 90's. Who knows. There's not exactly a total history on Majorette out there. lol
I just now seen them. Majorette used them as background trucks on the front cover "cityscape" display of the cars for the 1987 catalog...but they are not actually listed in the catalog itself. So, that seems to tell me that the catalogs only list the new cars for each year, and not every single model.
I never doubted you, I'm just trying to figure what Majorette was doing with these catalogs, because I've been using them to gauge what year the cars I have are from. lol
I've noticed that. They just seem to upgrade the older models but still consider it the same model even if it's not even half as good as the older one.
I found one of these in my junk boxes yesterday! I want to rip the wheels off and put them on a Hotwheel big rig for an Optimus Prime Truck! Very cool truck but I like the wheels better!
I just fixed the wheels on this one after this photo was taken. The rims are supposed to be deep dish rims like on the rear, but when they slide off, the red rims pop out past the tire and give it an ugly appearance.
Got to love the wheels on Majorette trucks, by the way.
